Finding a Shorter Commute to Intel Ohio One: Check the Address

by Jared West

The shortest commute to Intel Ohio One is an address question, not a school-district contest. A district can cover a wide area. Two houses assigned to the same schools can put you on different roads, at different entrances, and in different traffic. Before paying for proximity, measure what you are actually buying.

Confirm Where You Need to Arrive

Ask your employer for the work address, entrance, parking arrangement, reporting time, and expected days on site. If you are still considering a possible future role, label that commute as a scenario rather than a confirmed requirement. Do not make a long-term housing decision depend on an assumed hiring date.

Build a Property-Level Comparison

Take three to five homes you would seriously consider. For each one, record the exact address, actual work entrance, weekday departure time, expected travel range, and alternate route. Run the return trip too. Your morning trip and evening trip may behave differently.

Use the Video as a Starting Point

My district comparison video discusses routes from representative locations. Those examples are not current, guaranteed travel times for every property. Use them to identify areas to investigate, then redo the calculation for your own listings. A high-school-to-site estimate should never quietly turn into a home-to-work promise.

Test More Than One Day

Check representative workdays instead of relying on one quiet weekend drive. If you can visit, drive the route when you would normally travel, observe the turns and intersections, and check an alternate route. A short mileage figure does not capture a difficult intersection, a detour, or an entrance on the other side of the site.

Keep School Assignment Separate

Verify school district and building assignment directly for each address. Proximity to a workplace does not establish enrollment. Avoid using a district label as a shortcut for either commute time or school suitability. You can evaluate both carefully without pretending they are the same decision.

Put Time Beside Money

A hypothetical 20-minute reduction each way saves 40 minutes per commuting day. At five days per week, that is 200 minutes, or 3 hours and 20 minutes. Your actual savings depend on your schedule. Compare that time with the difference in housing costs and the features you would gain or give up.

Choose With a Margin

Decide the longest routine drive you can tolerate, then leave a reasonable buffer. A home that only works when every traffic light is green may not fit your week. I can help you compare the houses; the route needs to match the job and schedule you actually have.
